European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation
The European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation is an educational and research organization in the field of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It allows physicians and researchers to share their experiences in bone-marrow transplantation.
EBMT’s mission:
- saving patients with blood cancers and other life-threatening conditions;
- developing a database of knowledge in the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy;
- collecting the data and analyzing the trends in the field of bone marrow transplantation in Europe;
- holding the annual meeting, which sees more than 5,000 participants, including international experts, scientists, physicians, nurses, statisticians and clinical study specialists;
- organizing educational events;
- monitoring the quality of bone marrow transplantation;
- accrediting bone marrow transplantation programs;
- promoting clinical and fundamental research in the field of haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
EBMT was founded in 1974 and coordinates research of ten working groups. EBMT has more than 5,000 members from 85 countries.
